Meet the Team
Tony Burgun – B.Optom (Hons).
Graduate Diploma in Ocular Therapeutics.
Tony grew up in Tumbarumba, in the Snowy Mountains. He arrived in Dubbo in 1986 and, seeing the need, set up his own practice in 1990. From Humble beginnings, where the first filing cabinet was the size of a kitchen draw, the practice now has over 30,000 patients on file. The one thing that gets Tony out of bed in the morning is the love of seeing his patients every day! As a Behavioral Optometrist, he also has a special clinical interest in children’s vision and the role it plays in learning. Tony’s hobbies include Race horses, painting or you might catch him out on the golf course on weekends.
Josh Williams – B.Optom (Hons).
Graduate Diploma in Ocular Therapeutics.
A Dubbo local and a proud partner of Burgun and Williams, Josh comes to us with 15 years’ of valuable experience as an optometrist in our community.
Josh values the importance of tailored vision solutions to meet his patient’s needs, his clinical knowledge branching into the fields of children’s vison and occular disease. A father to 2 gorgeous kids, if he’s not at work you’ll find him on the cricket pitch or supporting his favourite NRL team.
Amy
BVisSci and MOptom (Dist).
Amy is our contact lens expert and does all our Ortho-K and Custom lens fittings. She holds a Bachelor of Vision Science degree and a Master of Optometry, both with distinction, and has been with us since 2020. Amy is Dubbo’s only CASA credentialled optometrist, providing eye exams for commercial pilots, as well as leading the practice in our management of dry eyes, myopia progression and keratoconus.
Outside of work Amy likes to cycle around Dubbo and exercise with friends. On the weekends she is a regular at Parkrun. She loves food and enjoys nothing more than trying a new café or a new recipe.
Vanessa
Vanessa started with us in 2007 and has a passion for all things optical!
She loves talking to our patients and helping out where she can in the practice.
As a busy mother of four children, when Vanessa gets spare time, she loves to crochet, read sci-fi/fantasy fiction, go walking and or escape to catch the occasional movie.
Ebony
Ebony is our little ray of sunshine! Originally from Nyngan, a country girl at heart that has adapted to city life and is now a proud senior member of our team.
Ebony takes huge pride in how the Burgun & Williams brand is presented and is the key ingredient to our marketing and ever so popular social media pages, always on the hunt for local partnerships and providing our customers with updates on the latest trends and products. With an eye for fashion, she has an infectious smile and gorgeous personality that will have you leaving the store with confidence and a sense of pride in your new look.
Lucy
Lucy started with the B&W team in 2023 and is a born and raised Dubbo local.
She is an optical dispenser with many years of experience and has a keen eye for detail.Lucy has a compassionate nature and loves ensuring her customers are well looked after.She is a creative thinker when faced with challenges and always finds a way.In addition to caring for our patients, Lucy is raising two beautiful young girls.
Madi
Madeleine, better known as Madi, is locally born and raised in the central west and joined the B & W family in early 2023.
As the youngest member of the team, Madi enjoys spending her spare time around cars, trucks, and animals, including her 3 dogs at home. Her favorite quote being anything in relation to the ‘Fast & Furious’ franchise.
Madi is currently studying Optical Dispensing and enjoys helping patients select their new eyewear.
Kelsey
As a Dubbo local starting her journey through adulthood, Kelsey is new to the world of optics. Kelsey does her best to ensure that every patient leaves the practice with a smile on their face. She’s patient, motivated and down to earth with a knack for comedic timing.
When she isn’t assisting our clientele, she is attending the concerts of her favourite musical artists, immersing herself in a book or spending quality time with her friends and family. And her two puppy dogs, of course.
Kelsey loves the evolving nature of style and enjoys compiling distinctive fashion pieces to culminate her personal style.
Jo
Joanne, also known as Jo, established herself as a local resident after relocating from Narromine in 1974. She prioritizes family time, yet frequently assists her husband in the shed, collaborating on custom car and hot rod projects. Jo has a passion for all automotive events, cooking and all crafts.
Jo’s favourite quote is “every action creates a reaction”.
