Simple Summer Tips
Avoid “sunburn of the eye”
Sunlight can cause a condition called photo keratitis where UV rays burn the surface of your eye. We recommend Lens Category 3 sunglasses for high level sun glare and good UV protection.
Play it safe in the pool
Swimming in a pool? Don’t forget your swimming goggles to protect your eyes from saltwater and chlorine, and splash your eyes with fresh water after getting out. Avoid wearing contacts as this can put you at risk of eye infection – try prescription goggles!
Prevent dry eye
Wear wrap around sunglasses to guard against wind drying out the eye’s surface and drink plenty of water to keep your body and eyes hydrated. Artificial tears can help to keep eyes moist and refreshed.
