Tony grew up in Tumbarumba in the snowy mountains.
He arrived in Dubbo in 1986 and, seeing the need, set up his own practice in 1990. From humble beginnings, where the first filing cabinet was the size of a kitchen draw, the practice now has over 26,000 patients on file. As a Behavioral Optometrist, Tony has a special clinical interest in children’s vision and the role it plays in learning. Tony has undertaken further study in monitoring and managing glaucoma and macular degeneration.

Michael Brennan – B.Optom (Hons).
Graduate Diploma in Ocular Therapeutics.

Michael joined Tony as a business partner in January 2006, bringing 23 years of experience to the practice. His career has taken him to England where he studied, gaining further clinical experience. However, country New South Wales is where he has spent most of his working life and it is where Michael and his wife, Louise, have chosen to bring up their three young children. Michael has special clinical interests in contact lenses and diabetic eye disease.
Shiree Elliott – Practice Manager

Shiree originally started with the practice in 2004. At the end of 2007 she moved to Bargara near Bundaberg QLD for a sea change.
Work commitments have brought Shiree and her family back to Dubbo. Shiree has come back into the role of practice manager with new ideas and loads of enthusiasm.
Bec Smallmon – Dispenser

Bec is the longest serving member of the team and has been with the practice since 2001, joining the staff straight from school. She has since completed her dispensing course providing her with extensive product knowledge to compliment her hands on experience. Bec is constantly aware of the ongoing changes in lens technology and is able to recommend the best lenses available for your prescription.
Alison Harrod – Dispenser

Alison became a member of the team in 2005 following a brief time in accounting and immediately showed her natural aptitude and understanding of optics. Ali has graduated from her dispensing course and is now a fully qualified dispenser and enjoyed the benefits of the knowledge she acquired during her time as an optical assistant. Ali has a broad knowledge of all spectacle lenses and is also trained to conduct teaching sessions for prospective contact lens wearers. Ali has a love of everything pink which is evident in the large number of optical frames she has amassed during her time in optics!
Deb Christie – Optical Assistant

Deb has worked in the customer service industry for over 19 years. Of Deb’s many tasks at Burgun & Brennan, her favorite is meeting & greeting patients.
Deb’s many hobbies include playing soccer and Touch Football, also spoiling her beloved pets Sammy the dog, Bella Boo the cat & Stanford the rabbit.
Deb’s favorite sayings include “the simple things in life are often the best” and “laughter is the best medicine”.
Vanessa Kinsey – Optical Assistant

Vanessa also came to us in September 2007 and has a natural affinity with the optical business. She has a particular interest in contact lenses and has acquired a large knowledge base in a short time. Vanessa also conducts training sessions with prospective contact lens wearers.
Chantelle Warner – Trainee Dispenser

New to our team, Chantelle has come to us from the hospitality Industry. She is newly married & has two lovely little boys. Chantelle has enjoyed the change in career, so much so, she has decided to train as an Optical Dispenser. Chantelle enjoys reading & playing hockey.
